I wanted to take my first trip to Monroe this weekend. I just bought a new boat and can't wait.
I have two questions that I would appreciate some info on.
1. What is the best boat ramp for a beginner at Monroe.
2. How are the roads leading to Monroe?

Hello,
This is our first year as well. We have only launched @ the Paynetown ramp so far. The Cutright ramps are closer for us but are closed for now. The Paynetown ramp is nice and wide. The water has been fairly deep near the bank so my wife can easily beach the boat I can easily get on the boat after parking. The wait has been minimal going in or coming out.

Enjoy!!

In my experience at the lake, you are best launching at Paynetown for the beginner.  As it is a much larger ramp and lots of room to move around.  However don't look for any docks to be near by.  Best thing to do is have someone launch the boat and then drive the boat to the Paynetown marina and pickup the person driving the truck.  Much easier and less chance at damaging the huel if you beach the boat or hit a rock with your prop.

happy Boating...

Kevin,
Thanks for the tip!! Now I just need to find the Paynetown marina. Is it just a short walk from the launch ramp? Are there docks by the ramp @ Paynetown that are just under water now?

Thank you,

I too, think the Paynetown ramp is the easiest.   My husband has always been an avid boater and grew up on boats.  As a family we just purchased our boat last year and for me being a beginner it was so much easier at the paynetown boat launch!!!!  Cutright seems way too hectic and just makes me nervous.  Good luck and hope you like it.  We love it on Monroe and try to go everychance we can get!!

The turn to goto the Marinia at Paynetown is right before you get to the ramp.  If you go like you are heading to the camping area, and then come to the "T" at the little store, turn left and it ends at the Marinia.   Good luck, and hope you and the family have a great boating experience.
