I talked with guys at the front entrance of the park.  They told me last May that someone had bought the Inn and was going to completely gut the place and start over.  They were going to move the pool to the end.  Then a month later they said that they would open the bar and then start construction later.  Late summer I was told the deal fell through and they are now looking for a buyer.

I do not know if you have ever stayed there, it is very expensive.  Three summer ago we spent 2 nights during 4th of July.  It was a 2 night minimum which I think it is a 2 night min. on any weekend anyways.  It was $179 per night plus taxes.  The rooms are old and smelly.  Just imagine 20 years of WET kids running in and out of the rooms, mildew.

I do hope it does open.  When paying for our slip each year their is an added bonus of using the pool.  In other words we(slip) holders belong to the Inn of the Four Winds.

When you call, choose to talk to the marina or slip leasing.  The Dockmaster's name is Samantha Goodpaster.

If the hotel opens, it will be full for every holiday weekend.  Reserve early!

I know the guy who was going to buy it, the deal did fall through. From what I hear now the old owner is going to keep it for now, I am not sure on the hotel part opening up or not, but the bar will be open and had GREAT food at the end of last summer! Killer pizza. The pool was also open.  Smiley

They almost always have slips available for over niters, but for a holiday weekend I would book A.S.A.P. Samantha is the person to talk with, she is great.  Wink

See if you can stay on I-doc, then say hi and have a drink while your there.  Grin
