With the situation at the Fourwinds and the water level, does anybody know if they are planning on fireworks this year? :-?

Update:

The folks working the booth outside Fourwinds said the fireworks are canceled due to high water.  Not enough parking/the peninsula under water, etc.  Hopefully someone hears otherwise soon!

How idiotic.  Why can't they find another place to shoot them off from? Still plenty of shoreline!  Anyone planning on shooting off their own on the lake?

So, Paynetown is setting off fireworks?  Do they shoot them over the lake like Fourwinds did or is it a smaller operation really for the campers?

That would make for a long idle back to Fourwinds, but that would be great!  If anyone hears more details, please share here!

So far I have called several different departments of the DNR, and people around the lake and I am not able to confirm that they will in fact be shooting any fireworks off.  I know normally all fireworks are shot off at the Fourwinds area.   I am thinking that due to the sell of Fourwinds and that it has been delayed in its opening it also has had an effect on the fireworks for the 4th.  So, sorry but I have no confirmed information that we will have any fireworks on the lake.

Oh well.. sounds like the only fireworks being set off will be by the amatures in Allens Creek Cheesy and from looking at the forcast maybe mother nature. :-/.  (shoulda bought a top this winter!)

I never let a little lightning stand in the way of a long weekend on the water... but alot of wind and a crappy anchor screams - Windjammer!

Which I'm hoping is open now.

Anybody know for sure?
It effects how much food I pack.
Plus it sucks trying to grill a steak in a storm so it's nice to have a back-up. (Fairfax Inn is good but I hate to unhook the trailer.)

Reguardless see you on the water 8-)
