My family and I spent the weekend in Allen's Creek this weekend only to be awaken by a rocking boat at 6am. Don't get me wrong.....I'm usually an early riser, but when bass boats are flying through the cove, nearly on plane, in what I thought was an idle zone at the wee hours of the am it tends to piss a guy off. It was going on until 9 or 10 Sunday morning. I understand that there was a tournament Sunday but do the laws not apply to these guys. We finally jumped on a jet ski and told one the bass boys about their selves. The yelling and arms raised over our heads didn't work. Does anyone have a # for the lake patrol so next time I can give them a call?

I can relate to being annoyed by these guys!  The number for the C.O. office is 1-812-837-9536.  I keep it in my cell phone for emergencies (and to report dangerous behavior, etc.).

Thats some guts to just fly through the cove...  I don't get it, fishermen have half the lake basically to themselves (no wake), but try to break every rule imaginable, and go the dumbest areas.  Last year when the water was low and there was a NO BOATS buoy on the southwest end of Four Winds (out off  the peninsula), there was a fisher there multiple times, once right next to the buoy.  They'd rather make sure I have all my vests, a throwable.............  Fishermen get it too easy on Monroe.

Whats the level like after last nights rain?  Over the spillway?
Also heard approx. 25 picnic tables are missing, that'll be good on the prop

Thanks for the # Jim. As far as the water level....it looks like the lake only rose 9 inches as of Sunday morning according to the army corp of engineers web site. I use the "flag cam" on this sites home page to gage the water level. Before the heavy rains, the level was in the center of the little shelter houses, now its just past the fence line. I was really amazed. I thought the lake would be maxed out again with all the rain. l'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Does anyone know what the levels are supposed to be like this coming weekend?  I will be coming up from Louisville, and I am not going to bother bringing my boat if the lake is not accessible or I will be dodging trees and telephone poles.  Thanks for any info!

If you are ever on the lake and need to get Emergency numbers and your cell phone has internet, goto www.lake-monroe.com/m  then look for the "Emergency Numbers" at the bottom.  The C.O. number is listed here for those that are on the lake and wish they had saved it in their phones.  If you think of any numbers that you wish were listed or info you wish could be accessed from the mobile website let me know and I will do what I can to make it happen.
