Went out yesterday. The Girl was at church camp so I though I'd go out and do some fishing, maybe swim a litle and just spend some time on the boat.

Air was a little chilly (mid 70's) but water was perfect for swimming.

Fishing was off. My anchor caught more than I did. Yep I said my anchor.

After fishing for a bit I decioded to go to Allen's Creek and people watch for lunch.

Wind was coming right down the cove and dragging my anchor (It's a richter). After I had drifted a bit I decided to pull it up, reposition the boat and reset.

When I pulled it up it had a pair of sunglasses on it!  (I was anchored about even with the first small cove on the right as you enter the cove, in the middle).

After resetting I was still dragging a bit so decided to move to closer to the west bank and hopefully get out of the wind.  Pulling up the anchor I found it had ANOTHER pair of sunglasses on it.

There must be lots of them down there!

Anchored by the bank for a while and when it was time to leave I pulled the anchor and it had snagged a tree. I could get it off the bottom and tied up but couldn't raise it out the water at all to get my anchor. Looked to be about 6 to 10 feet long and I was wedged into a fork in it.

Motored over the a beach area where I could rest the  log on the bottom and magaed to get myself free.

So far Anchor caught 3 I caught 0.

Back at the dock I figure I'll fish some more.  Caught two little one's. The rest just laughed at me.

Final tally. Anchor 3 me 2.  I guess I'm just not a good fisherman. :^)

(BTW if your interested I'll take some pictures of the sunglasses)

Those sunglasses must be mine.  I lost two pairs last year.  I'm sure that's the only two down there.  I've lost count of all the stuff I've accidentally sent to the bottom of Allens Creek including a grill regulator and a couple anchors.  Wonder what else is down there?

I use a richtor anchor. It's got six or seven, 7-inch fingers spread out from the main hub. As it drags it kind of rakes the bottom so I guess I'll be recovering more stuff as the wind blows me.

If i find a grill regulator I'll let you know.

Wouldn't it be a great place to go scuba diving? Imagine the stuff you'd find down there.

You didn't get a black three sided anchor with a white rope sometime last year, did you?  Some a-hole in a rental pontoon ran the outdrive over my anchor line Labor Day weekend. Cut the line with about 100' out!
