Help me please (Bluegill and Crappie)

OK I'll admit it. I'm a lousy fisherman. I think they just don't like me.
I prefer bluegill but haven't been able to find them. I've been told that under the docks at fourwinds you can usually find them but No dice for me.
I have also heard that crappie like it under the docks but haven't been too lucky there either.
Any clues or hints you all can give me? I've been mostly under P-6, should I be further out (say under the big houseboat superdock (P-1)). What about under J dock?
Where else on the lake should I be looking at this point?
(I fished for 3 hours Friday with no bites. I hope it was just too hot. I'd hate to think that the fish reject me just as totally as the women do!!)

Any fallen trees from the bank into the water are usually a good place to start looking for crappie or bluegill. It has worked for me. Good luck!
