I've heard that they shoot off fireworks over the lake. Is this true?

Where do they fire them frome and where would be a good place to watch them from.

I assume the lake would be packed but it would still be a good time I think.

Hey John.

They usually set them off each year, but had to cancel a couple of times due to weather or finances stuff.

I did hear that they will be setting them off this year though. Although I have to work so I will miss the show.  Embarrassed

They set them off out on the finger that is north of the marina, it’s the finger that runs out past the state swim beach right before you get to four winds. You can see them perfect from any of the uncovered slips. The past shows we have been to were well done and worth the time and effort.

I would recommend staying in your slip, tons of boats and a lot of crazy drunk people hang out all around the marina that night for the show, and the waters can get real crowded. Fun to sit and watch though.

Thanks bear.

Problem I have is I'm in a covered slip. But since I'm on A dock I may be able to see from the back of the boat. I'll turn her around and back in to put the better seats in viewing range.

Do they do any ground works or is it all up in the air?

And of course parking probably gets pretty bad around noon or so?

I talked to someone at the marina, and they said there will be NO fireworks this year.  Someone let me know if they hear differently from them!

Thanks Better Luck.

I think we'll probably skip the actual 4th and do our boating on the 3rd instead.

I'll also be out this Friday. Planning to fish the downed trees in the back of the Allens Creek cove and do some swimming etc with the girl.

If you see me out stop and say howdy. (Unfortunately I don't carry adult beverages on the boat but you're welcome to a cookie or something).  I've got a Manitou pontoon with two blue biminis (the aft one should be open, front closed) and lounge chairs (recliners) on the bow.

I saw a band in Anderson last weekend that said they were playing at Fourwinds on July 4th. The band is The Roosters Band and they said come on down to see us and enjoy the fireworks. I went to their website and it mentioned the fireworks also. Maybe they have a little more info from management.
