Did a first for me this last weekend. Took the Girl out for a daddy-daughter day, just the two of us.
The day dawned clear and blue. A perfect lake day, Unfortunately it clouded over befoe we left home. I was worried that it would rain on my parade so to speak. But God was good to us and it was sunny for the full day. Only rain we saw was a light sprinkle when we were coming in from the dock.
Got to the lake about 12:30 and motored out to the Allens creek cove. Boat was running well. motor nice and smooth and quiet.
We anchored just inside the party cove (around the corner on the right hand side going in by the rocks). If you were out there I was the thre log pontoon boat with the blue bimini. I had the rear bimini up and the front one closed. Next time you see me stop and say howdy.
Did some swimming, the Girl won an inflatable dolphin at vacation bible school and this was her first chance to play on it. Turned into a great thing. Tied a 30 foot rope on it and told her she could swim as far from the boat as the dolphin could. Water was cold at first but quickly became wonderful.
One of our daddy daughter day events was cleaning the boat. Scrubbing the bottom with scotchbrite pads to get the growth off. She had a blast at it. Amazingly, even chores become play in the water. She especially liked being under the boat bewteen the tubes.
We also did some fishing. I figured between the tree in the water, the rocks, the log and the curve of the shore I'd be able to find something worth keeping. Got skunked. However just when I was ready to put the rod away the Girl wanted to fish. So I cast one out for her and turned to start getting stuff put away. No sooner had I turned than she said "I've got a big one!". The stinker caught an 8" bluegill. I thinks she enjoys showing me up.

Spent the rest of the time eating and watching the people in the cove. It was a perfect day for it.
Ended the day with a slow tour of the cove and a dash back to the dock.
Then she decided she wanted to swim in the pool. While there we met some nice folk from out on J dock. Who just happend to have a girl my daughters age. I got to rest and shoot the breeze and the girls had a blast in the pool
Somehow I think I'm going to like this slipped boat thing.
Did some swimming.
