Just wanted to post a note to let anyone who may be interested know that the Crappie fishing was extremely hot today.  (April 17th).  My father and I stopped counting at 60...  Average size caught today was between 7-10 inches.  23 were near 1lb or slightly over.

We found the big Crappie by jigging a yellow curly tailed grub in scrub brush which can be found all over the lake in the shallows.  Average depth we caught them in was 2ft or less.  This method seemed to shut down around 1:00 PM.

We then moved to the fast side of the lake and found a north side cove with approximately 19ft of water on the West side.  Trolled along the shore until we located some submerged cover and then began fishing minnows. (Larger minnows seemed to be favored)  Fishing was slow until around 4:00 PM (still in 19ft of water) and the Crappie were back on!  We anchored and caught Crappie at a depth of 12-15 ft until 7:30 PM when we decided to pull off the water and head home.
