Wrong man arrested in deadly Bloomington DUI crash

Monroe County - A Bloomington man admitted to police that they had arrested the wrong person in a deadly crash.

Thomas Dillman, 26, came forward several days after a car crash, admitting that he struck a woman on Saturday morning who was standing by the roadside. He is charged with failure to return to an accident resulting in death. Dillman remains in jail, and is on hold for a probation violation.

Police released 42-year-old Anthony Somes, who they though originally struck and killed the woman. He originally had been charged with being intoxicated at the time of the crash, but those charges have been dropped.

Police say Lacey Deckard was standing outside of a Jeep trying to help a stranded motorist when she was struck and killed.
