Southern Indiana brewery making expansion moves

Bloomington - A small brewery in southern Indiana has started work on a new facility that will boost its production capacity by 1,000 percent as it looks to expand into more outlets around the state.

The Bloomington Brewing Co. has been selling its beer for 14 years at Lennie's restaurant in Bloomington. Its expansion plans are visible since work has started on a new $700,000 production facility in a former warehouse.

Co-founder Jeff Meese says its current brewery has been running at full capacity for almost five years.

He says the company has a deal to start selling its beer at three Indianapolis-area bars and will be looking for others. The company could also start selling in some grocery stores next year.
