Teen involved in Lake Monroe crash to be charged

Bloomington - Prosecutors in Monroe County will file charges Tuesday against a teenager involved in a June boating crash.

Winston Wood, 19, was operating a Cobalt ski boat at Monroe Reservoir on June 28 when he was involved in a collision with another boat. Two occupants of that boat, Susan Collier, 51, and her eight-year-old grandson, Gage Pruett, died in the crash.

Wood will be charged with two counts of leaving the scene of a boat collision resulting in death, a Class C felony, and one count of leaving the scene of a boat collision involving serious bodily injury, a Class D felony.

Investigators say Wood "failed to perform the duties required of a vehicle operator after a collision" as specified in the Indiana Code.
