Does anyone know if the guardshack got rebuilt? We are planning to go down this weekend for the first time and want to be able to get the season pass and launch permit as we go in. Has DNR placed the courtesy docks at the ramp?

We were there last weekend, the frame and walls were up but no paint or finishing done. I would say they probably will not be open this coming weekend,
“Easter Weekend”

You can go online to the Indiana DNR website and order them, that’s the way we do it each year, easier for us than waiting in line at the gate.

No docks in at the moment.  Will update tomorrow if it changes.

Also, I would expect them to either start tomorrow, April 1st, or wait another month.

Weren't there over last week.  Anyone update from the windy weekend?

The courtesy docks need to be in soon, dangerous for people to have to make do right now.

The shack is up but nobody was working out of it Friday and Saturday. DNR told me someone should be there next week and that the courtesy docks would start going in next week as well. There were 8 rental pontoons in the cove Friday(college kids) They left the cove a mess when they left. Trash everywhere! There are no Idle zone bouys out yet either so the fishermen were flying through the cove on plane. They will get caught up soon and get things put out, I hope.

Good stuff, thanks.

Is there anything that can be done in regards to preventing/cleaning up the trash?

I made a call to Four Winds and told them what had happened and they said they would take care of it. We picked up some of the stuff, that didn't sink, ourselves. I guess DNR isn't patrolling yet, at least that's what I was told by the lady at Four Winds.

Unfortunately I don't think DNR patrolling would do much for that.  It's hard to stop ignorance.

Props to you for cleaning up what you can.

Guard shack was fully functional Friday. Bought my park pass and my boat pass.

Courtesy docks weren't in yet however. Made launching my 24' pontoon by myself really interesting.

I managed to launch at the marina's ramp, put the boat in the slip and run back to move my truck and trailer before anyone got there. Fortunately my slip faces the ramp and it's only a brief run off the docks and back to the ramp.

The gard shack is almost complete.  Someone is there on weekends and would be glad to take your money.  Have fun!
